Welcome to Wallan Wallan

Natural Therapies

Dr Graeme Hodges grew up in the Wallan area (Darraweit Guim to be precise) and went to high school in both Kilmore and Broadford, before “escaping to the city” in his late teens.

After some years working mostly in the management field - and following a 18-month hiatus travelling through Asia, Africa and Europe - Dr Graeme returned to study, completing an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy at RMIT University in 1998 and then continuing on to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chinese Medicine) in 2002, also at RMIT University. Dr Graeme has also completed a Graduate Diploma of Health Industry Management at Curtin University in 2015.

The final year of the Chinese medicine degree included a one-year internship at Jiangsu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Nanjing China.

Upon completion of this internship, Dr Graeme chose to stay on in China and took the opportunity to study privately with some preeminent teachers, including Professor Huang Huang (Dean of the International Jing Fang Institute at the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine) and Dr Han Yan at Jiangsu Province Hospital (who herself was a student of Professor Bo Zhi Yun who, in the early 1970’s, developed the system now known as Abdominal Acupuncture): https://www.acupuncturetoday.com/mpacms/at/article.php?id=30178

Dr Graeme has practised in China, Sydney and Melbourne and recently relocated back home to Wallan.

As the Chinese saying goes:  落叶归根 Luo Ye Gui Gen - falling leaves return to their roots.

Dr Graeme is now very pleased to be offering treatments to the Wallan and surrounding communities - including a wide range of pain, emotional and fertility/IVF conditions (see the Typical Conditions page for a list of some of the conditions that Dr Graeme has treated).

**Dr Graeme mainly incorporates the Neoclassical Acupuncture and Master Tung/Dr Tan methods into his acupuncture practise.

Please feel free to call or email to make a booking, or enquire about the most suitable treatment option/s for you.

I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the Wallan area, the Wurundjeri Willum People - who originally named the area “Walen Walen” (from which the names “Wallan Wallan” and “Wallan” come).

A special “thank you” to my many esteemed teachers and mentors - past, present and future.
